Auto Trader picks up two awards at the Manchester Big Chip Awards
Auto Trader, the UK’s no 1 motoring website and magazine, has won two categories at the Manchester Big Chip Awards 2008 for the ‘Best Use of Technology’ and ‘Best from Warrington and Cheshire’, quoting ‘Best User Experience for Search’.
Auto Trader won the Awards for the innovative, enhanced search functionality on its website, which gives visitors a more detailed and precise vehicle search, enabling them to drill down into specific sub-model and edition ranges across all vehicles.
Visitors are now able to search for vehicles with a range of criteria including mileage, price and age, with each search selection containing the number of vehicles that match the specific criteria of each user. The new comparison tool also enables consumers to evaluate up to five vehicles against each other more easily.
Stephanie Hassman, Programme and Change Director at Trader Media Group, comments: “We are delighted that we won two categories at the Manchester Big Chip Awards 2008. These are fantastic achievements for both the team, led by Sara Christie, that worked on implementing the new search functionality with Endecca and to Auto Trader as a whole.”
The Manchester Big Chip Awards are the top awards for ICT and new media outside London. The Big Chips are run for the industry, not for profit, by independent trade association Manchester Digital – with support and help from industry volunteers.
The Awards are known for the highest standards of objectivity and integrity and are judged by a distinguished panel of experts from organisations such as New Media Age, Channel 4, Grey Worldwide and Index Ventures.
