Auto Trader Great British Car Survey
Do you know how the British motoring industry is perceived by consumers? Find out the results of a survey we recently commissioned to give some insight on how your advertising can influence new car buyers.
Auto Trader recently commissioned a survey to gauge how our customers perceive Britain’s motor industry. The results provided some interesting results.
After completing the survey and thinking about British vehicles, a third of people said they were more likely to consider buying a British made car, with 1 in 4 of the total amount of people surveyed agreeing that they are more likely to buy a car if it is made in Britain.
Consumers have also expressed an interest in finding out whether their car or any of its parts are British made with over two thirds of car buyers wanting to know more about the origin of their potential purchase in any brochures and advertising.
Interestingly, 80% of Britain’s motorists think manufacturers would rather use cheap labour abroad than build cars in Britain.
Encouragingly, consumers feel positively towards the British motor industry overall with half feeling it is important that Britain to have a motor industry and 90% wanting it to continue to contribute to the overall global motor industry.
