Auto Trader’s Revamped Mobile Site Offers New Advertising Opportunities
At 93%, mobile is the most penetrated form of telecom in the UK household, above internet at 67% and broadband at 58%*. That’s why here at Auto Trader we decided to tap into the whopping 12.9 million mobile internet users in the UK* by re-vamping and re-launching our own mobile internet site last summer, Auto Trader Mobile.
As of January of this year, Auto Trader Mobile had over 525,000 searches and 200,000 unique users and features the entire range of over 350, 000 new and used cars and bikes for sale on Auto Trader, including full adverts and images. There is also information on how to get finance for your car purchase, place an advert, find an insurance quote and get a car history check. What’s more, it is completely free to use.
Since its re-launch last year, the number of page impressions has risen steadily month on month, increasing by nearly 500% and reaching a staggering 5,200,000 in February 2009.
In terms of using the site as an advertising platform, Auto Trader Mobile offers advertisers the option of top and bottom banners that run at the same time, counting as one click through.
Other well known brands such as Sky and Samsung have used our mobile site to advertise and have generated click through rates as high as 1.85%, which demonstrates the successful advertising performance Auto Trader Mobile can generate.
